The technical
college München was founded in 1971 and covers four areas
of study - Engineering, Economics, Sociology and Construction.
It's predecessors, seven engineering and technical colleges
date from as far back as the 19th century.
The practical use of scientific theory is
the aim of a technical college education. The courses are clearly
organised and well structured. A long study period as is usual
in a university is not necessary. Each course also includes
one or two practical semesters.
With approximately 14.000 students, 470 professors
and 21 courses Munich Technical College is one of the largest
technical colleges in Germany. The Technical College is currently
being thoroughly reformed to improve the study conditions and
international competetiveness and of course to include the latest
developments.
