Munich Tour

Unterföhringer See (Poschinger Weiher)

This natural "pond" lies in a picturesque area of the river Isar and neighbouring woods - the "Auerwald". After hiking around the lake it is possible to admire a panoramic view of Munich from the viewing points on the hills around. Thirty years ago the still waters - with a depth of just two meters - seemed in danger of silting up, but some prudent anglers took the lake under their wings and managed to prevent the disaster.
