Pinakothek of Modern Art

The huge building of the Pinakothek of Modern Art is currently being built on the grounds of the old Türken-barracks. The new building will fit into Munichs unique Museum quarter alongside the Old and New Pinakotheks across the road, the Lehnbachhaus, the Glyptothek and the Antikensammlung.
The Pinakothek of Modern Art will show the development of plastic art in the 20th and 21st centuries. A centre for modern art is being planned which will hold it's own on the international stage.
The opening is expected in the autumn of 2002.
